The Department of Curriculum and Instruction was established in the second semester of the academic year 1991/1992. The Department tries to accomplish the following objectives:

1. Teacher preparation.
2. Conducting educational research for the purpose/s of developing and upgrading the instructional process.
3. Communicating with the local community through organizing educational lectures, seminars and workshops.
4. Participating in the Ministry of Education curriculum design and development teams.

The department has 41 faculty members, representing various academic ranks and majors, and (594) students. It offers the following academic programs:

1.  Diploma of education in the curriculum and instruction of the following fields: Arabic Language, English Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Islamic Education, Physical Education,  Art Education and Vocational Education.
2.  Master of education in the curriculum and instruction of the following fields: Arabic Language, English Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Islamic Education, Physical Education, Art Education, Vocational Education and Instructional Technology. 
3. Ph.D. in the curriculum and instruction of the following fields: Social Studies, Arabic Language, English Language, Science and Mathematics.
