The department was established in the academic year 1991/1992 under the name of Educational Psychology. In September 2006 the department name was changed to Counseling & Educational Psychology.
The department has 35 faculty members, representing various academic ranks and majors, and (1035) undergraduate students. It houses a Counseling Laboratory where services for students and faculty members are available.
The department offers the following academic programs:
- Bachelor degree in Counseling Psychology.
- Master degree in the fields of Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Special Education, and Measurement and Evaluation.
- Ph.D. degree in the fields of Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and Measurement and Evaluation.
